March 30 - Butterfly Hide Away



Butterfly Hide Away - Butterfly pupae can continue resting in their cocoons until ideal outside conditions for emergence are met, sometimes doing so for entire seasons. Emergence can be caused by many factors, from temperature to recent rainfall.

Air Hole - All butterfly eggs have a tiny hole at the top to allow for fertilization. Later, this same hole gives the developing embryo air to breathe.

Nowruz - (Persian: نوروز /noʊruz; meaning 'New Day') the traditional Persian New Year holiday, having its roots in Ancient Iran. Today, the festival of Nowruz is celebrated in many countries that were territories of, or influenced by, the Persian Empire: Iran, Kurdistan, Afghanistan, and parts of the Middle East.

March 13 - Bradford Pear

Bradford Pear - Widely planted throughout North America as an ornamental tree, it has become a ubiquity in many suburban communities. It is tolerant of a variety of soil types, drainage levels and soil acidity. Its shape varies from ovate to elliptical. The symmetry lends to their use in somewhat formal settings, such as office parks or industrial parks. It is commonly planted for its decorative value, but its hard little fruit are generally taken by birds. Its beautiful white blossoms can be seen in early spring along the boulevards of many U.S. towns.
