April 4 - Saturn Returns

Spring Sky - When we look into the sky on spring nights, we are looking away from the center of our galaxy, the Milky Way. Therefore, we see fewer stars; they are far beyond our galaxy.

Saturn at Opposition - On April 4, Saturn is at opposition with the Sun and can be sen throughout the night. It is also in its closest positioning with the Earth for the year.

Saturn Joins Evenings - Saturn exits the morning sky, and can now be seen in the evenings. It will remain visible in the evening sky through late September.
